MITeinander – Migration, Inclusion, Participation.

Support and Assistance for People with Disabilities and Migration/Refugee Experience.

Welcome to ‘MITeinander – Migration, Inclusion, Participation,’ a project by the Parent Initiative FED Leipzig e.V.

People with a migration background and disabilities face many challenges. Everyday life with a disability is often characterized by physical as well as bureaucratic hurdles. We see ourselves as part of an inclusive society. That’s why we aim to enable equal access to participation services and support offerings.

Whether you need guidance on disability-related matters, are seeking access to services, or have an interest in our recreational activities – we are here to support you and work together to find paths to inclusion and participation.

We aim to provide help as quickly and uncomplicatedly as possible. This includes that we are happy to have conversations in your language. Our team speaks Arabic, German, English, and Spanish. For other languages, we can search for interpreters. Additionally, you decide: Would you like to visit us for a conversation in the office, or should we come to your home?

Do you have a question?

If you have any questions or concerns, we are happy to help you at any time.
Is German a new or difficult language for you? We also speak Arabic, English and Spanish. We are looking for an interpreter for other languages.

MITeinander – Our Services

What kind of support does MITeinander offer for people with disabilities and refugee experience?

Every person is unique and has their own needs, desires, and ideas. We will explore how we can work together with you to achieve what you desire and require.

Migrant women and refugees with disabilities and their families can find support and assistance tailored specifically to their needs with us:

  • Guidance in Leipzig, for example, on topics such as health, care, relief, education, and participation.
  • Information in multiple languages.
  • Recreational activities for children and families.

If we cannot directly assist you with your concerns, we will connect you to the appropriate contacts and gladly assist in facilitating the contact.

In all our offerings, inclusion and equal participation in all areas of life are of utmost importance.

The Café MITeinander.

Café MITeinander is an accessible, inclusive, and multilingual offering for new residents in Leipzig with disabilities and their families. Café MITeinander is a family gathering that takes place once a month.

We meet once a month at a Family Center in Leipzig-Plagwitz. The entire family is welcome to the gathering. There is food and drinks available. Each meeting focuses on a specific topic, and a speaker is invited (workshop). The speaker provides a brief introduction, and then the participants have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the topic in the group. In addition, the group collects ideas for new events.

Café MITeinander is a free and low-threshold offering in a safe space, where self-help takes place, and where fun, variety, and shared experiences in everyday life are provided.

Through the MITeinander project, we want to create equal access and participation for all people. Inclusion means: everyone can take part and everyone has the same opportunities. This is what we are committed to as the parents’ initiative FED Leipzig e.V. If you would like support, we are here for you.
